I’M AFRAID TO BE AWAY FROM HOME IF I BECOME A PRIEST

February 1, 2020

Yes, this happens to all of us; the greatest saints and everyone who has considered the priesthood or religious life has felt this fear.

If you have felt it too, good for you! That means that you are a healthy, holy and normal person.

It is natural to feel this way, because we want to be close to the people who are dear to us, especially on family days or holidays.  Certainly, when we think about religious life, we are thinking of a life away from home, being sent anywhere in the world on mission. Most of all,

sometimes we fear being away if something bad happens to our loved ones and we are away from them.

But Jesus promises us to take care of the ones we love. And Jesus keeps his promises!

Jesus mentions that he will give you a hundredfold whatever you give him.  Just ask any man or woman religious and you will see that it is true!

So, don’t be afraid! Be thankful that God has chosen you as an instrument through whom God will do great things!
