SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY, Year C. 2019.
Readings: Proverbs 8: 22 – 31; Psalm 8: 4 – 9; Romans 5: 1 – 5; John 16: 12 – 15
Title: You’re the image of God; The Trinity.
The important thing about life is not so much to obtain new facts and new knowledge as to discover new ways of thinking and understanding already known facts. For someone like Lao Tzu, “To know that you do not know is the best. To think you know when you do not, is a disease. But recognizing this disease as a disease, is to be free from it.” The search for meaning, and desire to understand are two important qualities that keep us on adventure. However, J. F. Kennedy once said that “The greater our knowledge increases, the greater our ignorance unfolds.” The more we try to grab the meaning of the Holy Trinity, the more our ignorance of this great mystery unfolds. We can either reverence Him in faith or reject Him in rebellion. The truth is that If there is ever one thing that we should stop trying to completely fathom, it is the mystery called the Holy Trinity. The readings of today offer us three dispositions when we reflect on the topic of One God in three Persons. They are wisdom, faith and spiritual inspiration. While the Book of Proverbs talks about the importance of wisdom, which help us to choose wisely what to pursue in life, and what to let go; Paul writes about the place of faith in our lives in his letter to the Romans. Faith is the disposition to believe, without doubt, revelations or realities that we cannot understand. It is pride to think that we have to understand every existing reality before it becomes reality. No there are more unknown realities than the things we know. John even noted this point in the Gospel. In the Gospel, John makes us understand that the Lord Jesus Christ has many things he did not tell the Church. However, he promised that the Holy Spirit will inspire us to the knowledge necessary for our salvation, happiness and peace.
Today, I want to reflect on how best we can relate with what we do not and cannot totally understand. If we believe that we all are made in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1: 27). The mystery of the Holy Trinity becomes the mystery of who we are. Trying to understand the mystery of the Holy Trinity should lead us back into ourselves in connection to the universe. Basically, the Trinity is not a doctrine to be fully understood. It is a way of living with the great unknown, but now revealed by Jesus, of God the Creator, God the Redeemer and God the Savior.
A story was told of a man searching the meaning of God as Trinity. His search led him up a high mountain to meet a guru. When he arrived, the guru asked who he could help him. His answer was that he came all the way from United States of America to get full knowledge of God as Trinity of persons so that he could be stronger in faith, and to worship this God. The guru looked at him with pity and said to him, “A god that you can explain is not a god that you should worship.” We can understand some things about God, but we cannot understand everything about God. We only need to come to Him in humble adoration.
One thing we can be sure of the God as Trinity is that he fully understands himself. The signs of self well understood are the signs pointing to God and his kingdom. Such signs are happiness, better decision-making, self-control, no internal-conflict, resistance to social pressure, tolerance and understanding of others, vitality and super pleasure.
A story was told of a gypsy man who went to a fountain that belonged to a small village. The fountain was located at the village square. As the gypsy man was very thirsty, he bent down to drink from the fountain. There was a little boy watching him because he was doing something a bit weird to the boy. He keeps looking into the water and smiling as if something or someone was down there, and he was talking to him/her. The little boys ran over to him, and asked who it was that is down there that he was looking at and talking to. The gypsy man told the boy that God lives in the water. But the boy was taught to believe that God lives somewhere up in the sky. How comes that he is in the water of the fountain in his village. This aroused the curiosity of the boy, and he asked if he could see this God. The gypsy man picked him up and put him over the water so that he could look down into the water. The boy looked down for a while, and said to the gypsy man, “I don’t see anything. I only see myself in the water.” To this the gypsy man smiled and said to him, “Yes, that’s where you’re going to find God, for He lives right inside of you.” The God we cannot find in ourselves does not exist somewhere outside of us. We cannot find Him in philosophy and theology books. You have to look deeper into yourself, and discover how you mirror God. So you are the image of God, the Trinity. All we need to do is to work every day towards understanding this image of God, which we all are. We can begin to pierce things together; things like our values, things that interest us most, our temperaments, our biorhythms (are you morning or evening person), life mission & goals, and your skill/strengths.

Título: Eres tú la imagen de Dios; La Trinidad.
Lo más importante de la vida no es tanto obtener nuevos hechos y nuevos conocimientos como descubrir nuevas formas de pensar y comprender hechos ya conocidos. Para alguien como Lao Tzu, “Saber que no sabes es lo mejor. Pensar que sabes cuando no lo haces, es una enfermedad. Pero reconocer esta enfermedad como una enfermedad, es estar libre de ella ”. La búsqueda de significado y el deseo de comprender son dos cualidades importantes que nos mantienen en la aventura. Sin embargo, J. F. Kennedy dijo una vez que "Cuanto más aumenta nuestro conocimiento, más se desarrolla nuestra ignorancia".
Cuanto más intentamos captar el significado de la Santísima Trinidad, más se revela nuestra ignorancia de este gran misterio. Lo podemos reverenciar en fe o rechazarlo en rebelión. La verdad es que si hay alguna cosa que debemos dejar de tratar de entender completamente, es el misterio llamado la Santísima Trinidad. Las lecturas de hoy nos ofrecen tres disposiciones cuando reflexionamos sobre el tema de Un Dios en tres Personas. Las disposiciones son sabiduría, fe e inspiración espiritual. Mientras que el Libro de Proverbios habla sobre la importancia de la sabiduría, que nos ayuda a elegir sabiamente qué buscar en la vida y qué dejar de buscar; Pablo escribe sobre el lugar de la fe en nuestras vidas en su carta a los romanos.
La fe es la disposición para creer, sin duda, revelaciones o realidades que no podemos entender. Es un orgullo pensar que tenemos que entender cada realidad existente antes de que se convierta en realidad. No, hay más realidades desconocidas que las cosas que conocemos. Juan incluso notó este punto en el evangelio. En el Evangelio, Juan nos hace entender que el Señor Jesucristo tiene muchas cosas que no le dijo a la Iglesia. Sin embargo, prometió que el Espíritu Santo nos inspirará al conocimiento necesario para nuestra salvación, felicidad y paz.
Hoy, quiero reflexionar sobre cómo podemos relacionarnos mejor con lo que no podemos y entender totalmente. Si creemos que todos estamos hechos a imagen y semejanza de Dios (Gn. 1: 27), el misterio de la Santísima Trinidad se convierte en el misterio de quienes somos. Tratar de comprender el misterio de la Santísima Trinidad debería llevarnos de regreso a nosotros mismos en conexión con el universo. Básicamente, la Trinidad no es una doctrina para ser plenamente entendida. Es una forma de vivir con el gran desconocido, pero ahora revelado por Jesús, de Dios el Creador, Dios el Redentor y Dios el Salvador.
Se contó una historia de un hombre buscando el significado de Dios como Trinidad. Su búsqueda lo llevó a una montaña alta para encontrarse con un gurú. Cuando llegó, el gurú le preguntó a quién podía ayudarlo. Su respuesta fue que llegó desde los Estados Unidos de América para obtener un conocimiento completo de Dios como la Trinidad de personas para que pudiera ser más fuerte en la fe y para adorar a este Dios. El gurú lo miró con lástima y le dijo: "Un dios que puedes explicar no es un dios al que debas adorar". Podemos comprender unas cosas acerca de Dios, pero podemos comprender todas cosas de Dios. Solo tenemos que venir a Él en humilde adoración.
Una cosa de la que podemos estar seguros de Dios como Trinidad es que él mismo se comprende a sí mismo. Los signos del yo bien entendido son los signos que señalan a Dios y su reino. Tales signos son la felicidad, una mejor toma de decisiones, autocontrol, ausencia de conflicto interno, resistencia a la presión social, tolerancia y comprensión de los demás, vitalidad y súper placer.
Se contó una historia de un hombre gitano que fue a una fuente que pertenecía a un pequeño pueblo. La fuente estaba situada en la plaza del pueblo. Como el gitano tenía mucha sed, se inclinó para beber de la fuente. Había un niño que lo observaba porque le estaba haciendo algo un poco extraño al niño. Sigue mirando hacia el agua y sonríe como si algo o alguien estuviera ahí abajo, y le estaba hablando. El chico corrió hacia él y le preguntó a quién miraba y con quién estaba hablando. El hombre gitano le dijo al niño que Dios vive en el agua. Le enseñaron a creer que Dios vive en algún lugar del cielo. ¿Cómo viene que ya está en el agua de la fuente en su aldea? Esto despertó la curiosidad del niño, y le preguntó si podía ver a este Dios que vive en el agua. El hombre gitano lo levantó y lo puso sobre el agua para poder mirar hacia abajo. El chico miró hacia abajo por un rato y le dijo al hombre gitano: "No veo nada. Sólo me veo a mí mismo en el agua. "A esto el hombre gitano sonrió y le dijo:" Sí, ahí es donde vas a encontrar a Dios, porque Él vive dentro de ti ". El Dios que no podemos encontrar en nosotros mismos sí lo hace, no existe en algún lugar fuera de nosotros. No podemos encontrarlo en los libros de filosofía y teología.
Tienes que profundizar en ti mismo y descubrir cómo reflejas a Dios. Así que tú eres la imagen de Dios, la Trinidad. Todo lo que necesitamos hacer es trabajar todos los días para comprender esta imagen de Dios, lo que todos somos. Podemos comenzar a perforar cosas juntos; cosas como nuestros valores, cosas que nos interesan más, nuestros temperamentos, nuestros biorritmos (eres tu persona matutina o vespertina), misión y objetivos en la vida, y tus habilidades / fortalezas.
